Plant Information

Cedar is usually darker in color than other oils and has a very strong aroma making it great for repelling insects, in candles and room sprays. Derived from foliage, wood and roots of the cedar wood tree Juniperus virginiana, it exudes an earthy blend of balsamic, sweet, and woody aroma which is known to be revitalizing, comforting, warming and uplifting. Native Americans have been treating respiratory infections, rheumatism, skin problems like arthritis and rashes with Cedarwood - Juniperus Virginiana for centuries. Many claim it is useful in a chest rub to relieve congestion or to help fight infection. Derived from foliage, wood and roots of the cedar wood tree Juniperus virginiana, its woody odor, has a revitalizing, comforting, uplifting scent. It also has toning properties and research suggests it to be a powerful antiseptic, fungicidal and anti-seborrheic and can be used to be used for greasy hair, hair loss, and to promote better sleep. 

Often found in mens toiletries, skin and hair care products, acne products and for joint and muscle pain products, Cedarwood also has many great benefits in aromatherapy. The aroma of this species of cedarwood is considered a male fragrance, making it great in any blends for men. Its nurturing yet powerful aroma connect us with Mother Earth as these subtle vibrations are known to be very grounding and centering. Many use this essential oil to help one reach a deeper meditative state in order to better receive healing and open to receiving more abundance. This oil is strong some suggest putting a drop on a tissue and inhale, instead of straight from the bottle, as a high concentration of the oil may inhibit the genuine experience of the aroma.

Usages

A great blend for the diffuser for a quiet evening at home with friends or family. As a few drops of Cedarwood essential oil, 3 drops Sweet Orange essential oil, a drop of Lavender essential oil and or Ylang Ylang.

Use in a chest rub to relieve congestion, in a blend designed to ground and calm the nerves or as a massage oil for soothing an overactive mind.
