Plant Information

To experience the smell of the forest in your home just breath in the invigorating, refreshing, and stimulating essence of Pine essential oil. Pine essential oil is derived from steam distilling the bark as well as the needles of a pine tree. It is considered one of the safest essential oils due to it being so low in toxicity. There are vast amounts of pine forests thought to come from Scotland, and so their civilization has a deep history with the trees. This tree was known as ,“king of the forest, the tree of heroes” and was planted on warrior’s graves symbolizing life and immortality. The pineal gland, responsible for many crucial rhythms of the body, is named after the pine nut. The buds & needles of the pine are edible, and are high in vitamin C & aromatic compounds making them a good flavouring for drinks. The pollen is a complete protein packed full of minerals & vitamins that's exceptionally nutritious, as well as the kernels which contain essential fatty oils.

Usages

To use the oil against fleas, add several drops into a spray bottle of water, with about a teaspoon of rubbing alcohol (to help break up the oil). Shake well and then spray on your furniture, carpets, dog beds and anywhere else the insects may be found.

To improve the fur coat of your dog you can also mix 3 – 4 drops of pine essential oil into a bowl of warm water, then soak a brush in the mixture before brushing your dog’s coat.

Safety

Always test for skin sensitivity prior to widespread use and use on the feet when possible. Excessive use of any oil can lead to skin sensitization. If skin irritation does occur, wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly. Keep out of eyes, ears, or nose. Experts do not recommend using essential oil if you have a terminal illness, cancer, epilepsy or a number of other conditions. Not all oils are created equal, so test brands carefully, and never use an oil in a way not recommended. Our oil is therapeutic grade, however we do not recommend any oils be used internally unless on the advice of a medical professional.
