Plant Information

Warming yet energetic, the name "clove" comes from the French word for "nail". They were historically traded from the Spice Islands by ancient Romans and Chinese.  Clove bud is said to ease emotional pain and scarring by bringing a sense of safety and security with its uplifting aroma. Clove bud is highly anti-infectious and known to relieve and warm sore joints and muscles. Combined with citrus, it makes a great cleaning agent. It is known to be a very warming oil used for pain numbing and muscle relaxing. The most important and common use of clove oil is in dental care as a topical anesthesia and various kinds of toothpaste, mouthwashes, and oral care medications contain this ingredient. The many benefits of Eugenia caryophyllata can be attributed to its anesthetic, antimicrobial, antifungal, antiseptic, antiviral, aphrodisiac, and stimulating properties.

Usages

Put it in a distiller or incense burner during holidays, Clove is a great scent for those times as it promotes cheer.

Relieve tooth pain by taking a cotton ball and dabbing it into a mixture of olive oil and Clove oil then apply it gently to a sore tooth, used as a topical anesthetic.

Add a small drop to toothpaste to promote oral health and soothe teeth or gums.
