Plant Information

The large, aromatic eucalyptus trees are from the Myrtaceae family. Like Eucalyptus Radiata, Eucalyptus Globulus comes from a eucalyptus oil made out of steam distilled leaves from the tree. This fresh, woody earthy, oil is popular in personal care products and spa treatments for its cleansing properties and uplifting, stimulating scent, that can be applied topically or diffused aromatically. Eucalyptus is said to refresh the atmosphere which makes it perfect for when it’s time to focus or meditate.

Harvested from the leaf of the Eucalyptus that is found all over the world, this pale, yellow liquid is used primarily as an antiseptic or fragrance but also know to heal most works as an antibacterial agent. Found in many hygiene, soaps and analgesic products it is also well known for relieving flu, cold-like symptoms, and congestion problems. Eucalyptus has some very soothing properties that seem to help many relax and is said to reduce stress. 

Usages

Put a dab on forehead, temples, and sinus area and massage and breath deeply for pain relief.

Add to humidifiers during cold season and diffuse into the air. Eucalyptus oil may treat many respiratory problems, including cold, cough, nasal congestion, asthma, and much more.

Dilute and apply to open wounds, bug bites or stings, burns, abrasions and sores.
Eucalyptus topical analgesic qualities are known to soothe the wound and aid in healing.

Massage with a carrier oil onto an injured area to alleviate any inflammation, pain, or swelling into the bottom of your feet for fever reduction, or on bites to prevent or stop itching from stings.

Safety

Always test for skin sensitivity prior to widespread use and use on the feet when possible. Excessive use of any oil can lead to skin sensitization. If skin irritation does occur, wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly. Keep out of eyes, ears, or nose. Experts do not recommend using essential oil if you have a terminal illness, cancer, epilepsy or a number of other conditions. Not all oils are created equal, so test brands carefully, and never use an oil in a way not recommended.
